Saddle Up for Murder (Second Wind Ranch Mysteries Book 1)

A retired homicide detective buys a rundown horse rescue in the California foothills and gets 11 days of retirement before the first body. She has no badge and no authority. What she has is three retired neighbors who turn up every Tuesday to muck stalls, and who know things about this valley that no detective could find in a file. Warm, clean cozy mystery with animals.
