The Awakening - Book 1 of the Evaran Chronicles

The Awakening follows Evaran, a mysterious being, and his rescue attempt of Dr. Snowden, and his niece, Emily, and two others from an alien abduction. The aliens on the ship are dead, and the ship is damaged. The other abductions were apex predators from across space and time, and they are loose on the ship. A space mercenary group known as the Bloodbores has also boarded the ship in search of salvage. Evaran must navigate these perils to get the humans off safely.
