Meet TV news reporter Elizabeth Danniher, whose address has changed from New York City to rustic Sherman, Wyoming, and whose life has changed even more. Struggling for air time at tiny KWMT-TV, Elizabeth is drawn into a murder investigation by a feisty young girl set to prove her father's innocence. Not that enigmatic rancher Thomas Burrell makes investigating easy for an amateur detective.
