Dreams and Promises Stolen: A story of innocents, betrayal and grit

If I could speak to my younger self, I would say the choices I make will change the world around me. I would tell myself to be smart, vigilant, thoughtful in my decisions and live life with an adventurous spirit. I would tell myself not to be afraid of love but to approach it with caution as to protect my heart, but that broken hearts are inevitable, and they will make me stronger. I would tell myself that empathy, kindness, and compassion are a woman’s superpowers, which I should use wisely, and that I deserve to receive them in return…alas, I cannot speak to my younger self, but I can share my story and let it speak to you.
