Disconnected

Max Grimm thought he was safe. Tormented by the memory of a near fatal encounter with an abandoned alien relic, he escapes to a planet where the technology that nearly killed him is banned, but his sense of security is shattered when he becomes involved in a grisly murder. Trying to tease apart the clues, he realizes they point to a psychopathic serial killer with a connection to a vanished race called the Xenos.
