Dead Before Morning

Newly-promoted Essex Detective Joe Rafferty faces challenges on several fronts during his first case in charge. A murder victim the media has dubbed 'The Faceless Lady and an investigation it pursues with gung-ho relish. A boss who would love to see him fail. A new partner who's more moral than the Pope. And a law-bending family who demand he does some law-bending of his own. All in all, Rafferty faces a bumpy ride during which his boss seems destined to get his wish.
