As Hurricane Walter swallows Florida, ushering in post-apocalyptic times, Mia Fine crouches in the crumbling newsroom of the paper where she works, listening to the publisher sing show tunes. Yes, things are bleak. But not so much for Mia, who's grateful she at least has Aaron, her adorable doctor husband. And what could be more festive when winter comes than joining Wal-Mart residents caroling around a parking lot bonfire? Eventually though, Mia, Aaron and an unlikely band of fellow travelers hit the road. Because even in a not-so-brave new world, there’s a place for them— somewhere a place for them.
